How we made our customers a little bit safer.

I research any and every tool available – importers, plugins, and software – to find the best platform that fits the project. Adent.io is high on my list of favorites because of the range of services, one-time payments, and highly involved support team.

While doing a deep dive into their escort software, we noticed there was a reporting system that flagged violations against the escorts, but there was no way the escorts could flag users and report bad dates. This was concerning, so I contacted their support team to confirm, and they did.

The ability to report bad dates is a huge step towards making sex work and the internet just a little bit safer. Many Sex Workers utilize bad date databases to organize details regarding potentially dangerous people. A website was created to collect bad date reports, you can see it here at askavery.how/bad-dates/. An organization in Canada collects information using a detailed form, you can see it here.

Having this built into the software is invaluable, and I knew that there was a strong case to be made for adding violations against users as a standard feature. Sex Workers make up a large share of their consumer base, so I hoped they valued the safety of their buyers.

While they were happy to cover the cost of the custom development for me, I needed to know if it was going to be a standard feature for all users going forward. They confirmed that yes, they “will add this suggestion to the software.” A big thank you to Adent.io for implementing the suggestion.
